- We recommend taking off your jewelry when swimming and keeping it away from perfume, hairspray, lotion, or any chemicals. Here are some tips and different methods to make your pieces shine like new:
- Put a non-gel toothpaste onto a toothbrush or apply it directly on the jewelry and gently rub the tarnished parts. It's not best to use this method too often as it can scratch the brass over time.
- Use warm water and a small amount of liquid dish soap, use your fingers to gently scrub the surface of your jewelry with soapy water then rinse the item thoroughly until the water runs smoothly over the surface. Dry well afterwards.
- Pour one cup of water into a container and squeeze half a lemon into the water. Stir in a teaspoon of salt until dissolved. Leave the jewelry in the juice for about 15-30 minutes, swish it in the liquid every so often. Use a soft cloth or soft toothbrush to gently remove the tarnish until it's clean. Wash off the item and dry completely.
